Officially the opening weekend for most trails after the Covid-19 shutdown, the Los Angeles Crest Highway and just about every turnout and parking lot was packed. Still, it was easy enough to escape the crowds with just a few minutes by foot on any trail. Along with Christina Lam, we hiked a handful of peaks and located an old plane wreck, a C119 crash from 1966. It was a gorgeous weekend…
Saturday: Mt Hoyt, Devil’s Peak attempt (failed due to thick brush)
Sunday: Mt Williamson, Pleasant View Ridge, C119 crash site
Sunday: Hawkins, Middle Hawkins, and Sadie Hawkins
