I was itching to get my first sight of Anza Borrego this season, so I rode my motorcycle loaded with camping gear out to the edge of the park, just before the highway drops down into the desert proper. I peeled up a dirt road and hiked up to a viewpoint looking down into the valley, and met an interesting guy (never thought I’d see someone here) on a low-budget 3 week road trip through 4 states. After hiking back down, we put down a few beers together before turning in. Good times, good for the soul.
