With 3 friends, we paddled just a few hours to volcanic Paoho Island in the center of Mono Lake. Paoha Island is an interesting place, with active fumaroles, hot springs, and leftovers from a resort that catered to tuberculosis patients in the 1930s. We hiked to a few interesting points on the island before setting up our camp for the night. After paddling back the next morning, we took a quick side-trip to paddle Lake Tenaya in Yosemite before heading home. A great trip with great company.
