On the way home from a work trip in Florida, I scheduled a weekend layover to visit a good friend near Dallas, Texas. We picked up a 3rd friend on the way up to the Wichita Wildlife Preserve in Oklahoma, arrived after dark, and set up camp and cooked up a great meal. We spent the following day doing some light hiking in search of wildlife and great views. We caught up with wild bison, longhorn cattle, prairie dogs, and took in the scenery from the top of both Elk and Scott Mountains. We finished off with a well-deserved meal in Medicine Park, Oklahoma, before the long sleepy ride back to Denton, TX.
