Nevada typically conjures up images of Las Vegas and empty deserts, but there is so much more. High peaks, legitimate forest, and colorful desert rock is just the beginning. The Great Basin contains dozens of island ranges and prominent mountains, has endless easy camp-anywhere-you-want wilderness, and 5-star hot springs. Its become one of my favorite places the last few years. My most memorable places in Nevada include Wheeler Peak, Moapa, the Muddy Mountains Wilderness, The Rubies, Star Peak, Leppy Valley, the Toiyabe Wilderness, Red Rocks, Valley of Fire, Duffer Peak, the Sheldon Wildlife Refuge, and Kyle and Bog Hot Springs.
