Heading back to Washington to see Christina, I took some time to visit my favorites. A few of these (The Lost Coast, the Redwoods, and the Trinity Alps) have become regular stop-offs whenever I get the opportunity. I started with Arrow Peak and Mt Pinchot in the Sierra, then picked up friend Phil Stinis in Sacramento. We went to the Lost Coast for amazing beaches and obscure brushy peaks, visited the Redwoods, did some rock climbing at Split Rock east of Eureka, and backpacked Mt Thompson in the Trinity Alps. From Mt. Thompson, I traversed to Wedding Cake, a fun scramble, then did Caribou Mtn a few days later while Phil enjoyed his hammock. Phil and I did some more rock climbing at Emigrant Lake before I dropped him off in Medford. I continued north to visit long time friend Matt in Grant’s Pass then shot up to Christina’s place where life would unexpectedly change…
