With two days to kill, I cleaned up some of the last peaks I had on the HPS list based around the Los Angeles Crest Hwy. Thursday, I went up and over Baden-Powell before dropping down to Ross Mtn, returning over Baden-Powell again. Friday turned out to be a nice surprise, as I unknowingly saved one of the best hikes in the area for last. I hiked in via the Buckhorn trail to tag Will Thrall and Pleasant View Ridge. I typically think of the San Gabriel HPS peaks as being very dry, but this area was surprisingly lush, with several springs feeding the area.
