Christian Mulkey and I spent 2 days and nights off of the Los Angeles Crest Highway, tagging HPS peaks with the help of dual-sport motorcycles. We lost the first half of Saturday running down into Palmdale to fix the front brakes on Christians KLR, but still managed to hike Emma, Old Emma, and Cole Point before heading to a camp spot near Mt Mooney further east. Sunday morning, we hiked Mt Hilyer, and I went on to hike Bare Mountain and Pacifico on my own after Christian’s feet succumbed to blisters. We fought Easter traffic heading back to San Diego, giving us plenty of time to relish in our full weekend…
