These photos are from my first trip to Japan, where I traveled by bullet train from Fukuoka to Tokyo, visiting Hiroshima, Himeji, Kyoto, and Koya-san along the way. After arriving in Tokyo, 2 friends and I made a winter ascent of a nearly-deserted Mt. Fuji in bad weather.  (Another photoset from a second trip to Japan in 2012 is found here.)
