Patagonia

OK, so technically Patagonia isn’t a country, but I couldn’t bear to separate these pictures into Chile and Argentina pages. I rode a bicycle one way from Perito Moreno (the town, not the glacier), to Ushuaia, crossing country borders 4 times.

Highlights of the trips were: cycling part of Chile’s rugged Carretera Austral, spending time in Villa O’Higgins, the fabled O’Higgins to El Chalten crossing (2 boats, trail, bad roads, etc), amazing scenery, sleeping in abandoned farms and hotels, visiting the only King Penguin colony outside of Antarctica, and most of all, the people I met. I spent a good amount of time cycling with new friends from Canada, Spain, and the USA. These new friends made the whole trip very memorable….
