Uganda

My main reason for visiting Uganda was to climb Mt. Stanley (16762′), Africa’s 3rd highest mountain (and much tougher than the higher two). Located in the Rwenzori Mountains on the border of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire), the range is notoriously wet and muddy. Friend Philip Wegge and I wore rubber boots for 6 of our 8 days, luckily the unique vegetation kept our minds busy.
