I tagged 3 peaks in Ventura on back-to-back perfect days. First an easy day heading up Chief Peak via Nordhoff Ridge Rd out of Rose Valley, then a monster hike the next day – 20 miles and 6000′ gain for Hines and Topatopa Bluff via Sisar Canyon. My late night experience the night before the Hines/Topatopa hike at the Sisar Canyon trailhead is a story in itself…but essentially I was chased out by some shady guys, who I’m pretty sure were growing pot back in Sisar Canyon…
