After working for a few weeks in San Diego and DC, I found a day to to get out just a few days after Thanksgiving. Philip Stinis and I hiked Monrovia Peak, going up and over the top of Clamshell and Rankin Peaks in the process. We managed Monrovia’s summit in just over 3 hours, with several stops to empty junk out of our shoes… great views followed us throughout the day, Blackjack and Orizaba Mountains on Catalina Island clearly distinguishable…
