Along with friend Philip Stinis, we hiked Sierra Peak on the northern end of the Santa Ana Mountains. This marked my last peak on the somewhat pathetic Orange County Peaks list. The hike took us up Coal Canyon, a relatively seldom visited area despite its easy access right off the 91 freeway. We opted for a shorter route down that put us into the back of a private ranch, leaving us with the option of hiking almost back to the top of Sierra Peak or taking our chances passing through the ranch. We passed through almost unnoticed. I’ll leave it at that 🙂
